Dear friend,
“Even in the world, the yogi who faithfully discharges his responsibilities, without personal motive or attachment, treads the sure path of enlightenment.”
These words from Babaji to Lahiri Mahasaya, found in Autobiography of a Yogi, were delivered long ago. They fully apply today. I love the prescription, and I love that phrase: “treads the sure path of enlightenment.”
Babaji asked Lahiri to serve in the world, rather than live in the Himalayas. Don‘t think that because you live “in the world” you cannot live a spiritual life. You too, from just where you are, can tread the sure path of enlightenment. To think otherwise is part of the delusion.
Remember what really matters. Remember who you really are. Maintain your dialog with the Divine. Fulfill responsibilities. Don‘t get attached to the results of your actions.
Blessings,
Nityananda
