Crispy Herbed Tofu
This simple, tasty, easy-to prepare recipe can be served as a snack, mixed with salad, or as a main dish.
Preparation time: 10 minutes |
Drain and wrap in a paper towel to absorb excess water:
1 lb. firm tofu
Then cut into 1" cubes.
Sauté in a pan, on medium-high heat for 5 minutes:
2 tablespoons safflower (or other mild-flavored) oil
tofu cubes
Sprinkle on tofu and stir:
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon dried thyme (optional)
Continue cooking and add:
1½ tablespoons tamari or Bragg's (or to taste)squeeze of fresh lemon juice (optional)
Continue cooking and sprinkle on:
1½ tablespoons nutritional yeastContinue to add more yeast until desire taste/texture is achieved.
Serve warm or cold.
