a Positive, Fearless Attitude

The best way to develop a positive attitude is through the use of positive affirmations done repeatedly, with concentration, energy and the conviction that you CAN change.
As part of your New Year's resolutions, make the commitment to experiment with affirmations and see for yourself that they work to change our consciousness and our attitude.
Select a positive quality that you want to develop and start affirming that you already have it. Keep the affirmation in the present tense. Then repeat it mentally over and over again several times each day. Find times in your day when you have a few minutes to do this, such as in the shower, while brushing your teeth, while driving or walking. It is powerful to do your affirmation when you first wake up and just before you go to sleep. Or, you can do them at the beginning or end of your meditations.
The key is to put out enough positive energy in your affirmation so that you attract to you the positive quality that you are affirming. Yogis and modern scientists have demonstrated that we can create new realities when we engage our minds repeatedly with positive thoughts. As Yogananda advised, be a divine scientist--try affirming a positive attitude and see how it works!
