Sundara Traymar
Inspirational teacher and retreat leader
International Director, Sharing Nature Worldwide
Gardener, Crystal Hermitage Gardens at Ananda Village
Sundara (Greg) Traymar is the International Director of Sharing Nature Worldwide and has been personally trained by world renowned author Joseph Bharat Cornell. Sundara is a gifted and inspiring teacher and wins friends wherever he travels. He has spent the last 12 years traveling the world, helping others deepen their love for nature.
As well as teaching in more traditional environmental education roles such as at Smithsonian Environmental Research Center, Sundara has specialized in offering people a more therapeutic and wellness based approach to nature awareness. The forest therapy exercises he has been teaching for over a decade provide people with a restorative cure for the many ailments that arise from spending little time outdoors. Thousands of people have learned how to internalize their experience of nature and feel a greater sense of peace and well-being.
As a teenager, Sundara had an experience in the wilderness which awakened his spiritual life and soon after he found Paramhansa Yogananda’s teachings. Since moving to Ananda Village in 2008, his deep joy has been helping people understand spiritual concepts in clear and compelling ways.
Sundara holds a B.A. degree in Environmental Studies from Warren Wilson College, with a minor in Outdoor Leadership.
“Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop away from you like Autumn leaves. –John Muir
“Contemplate beauty in the world around you, and you yourself will become beautiful. –Swami Kriyananda
