Harmonium Chanting Workshop
2-day weekend
There are no dates currently scheduled.
Have you always wanted to learn to play the harmonium?
It’s not difficult. Even if you have no musical background but enjoy chanting, you’ll find it relatively easy.
You’ll need to develop familiarity with moving your fingers on the right keys, and a little bit of confidence about rhythm.
Nowadays scientific studies show that learning to play a musical instrument does wonders for your brain. Keep your brain young, have fun, and best of all, use harmonium chanting to deepen your devotion and your spiritual life.
Join us for a wonderful weekend, which will include:
- 3 harmonium lessons, adapted to your level of playing
- How to use chanting to help change your attitudes and consciousness
- An evening of chanting and meditation, led by Ananda musicians
This weekend will be led by Nayaswami Mukti. Mukti has been playing piano since the age of six, and is classically trained. She moved to Ananda Village in 1992 and has been a key member of the Ananda Music Ministry since then, including singing in the choir, performing Swami Kriyananda’s piano solos and ensemble music, and accompanying him on the piano. She often teaches chanting workshops and performs in our Kirtan groups. She has used chanting as an integral part of her spiritual practice, as a powerful tool for personal transformation.
You’ll receive a spiral-bound book of chants by Swami Kriyananda and Paramhansa Yogananda. Each chant includes words, musical notation, and chords—an invaluable resource.
